Mercedes-Benz, long dominant in the domain of luxury vehicles, is now joining the sustainable micro-mobility market with this new member of its all-electric family.
Preceded by the EQV People Mover and the EQC compact luxury sport utility vehicle, the new Mercedes-Benz eScooter brings that same level of innovation and ingenuity to the smallest scale, despite the rather bland name.
Mercedes-Benz has launched this EV in collaboration with a Swiss scooter specialist, Micro, to make this e-scooter sleek, strong, and efficient. It features an electric motor with a maximum 500 W power which allows the scooter to accelerate to a speed 20 km/h (permitted in Germany) while the 7.8 Ah battery gives a range of up to 25 kilometers. This lets users travel with speed, comfort, and security. The kickboard is wide enough to have plenty of room for both feel and has a non-slip coating for more stability. The e-scooter has front + rear suspension and comes with 20 cm diameter rubber wheels that effortlessly handle uneven surfaces like cobblestones making it ideal for short urban commutes.
The 500W full suspension emission-free short-haul haulage vehicle was designed with longevity in mind. Developed in collaboration with Swiss specialist Micro Mobility Systems AG, also leveraged by BMW to assist in its electric scooter project, the Mercedes-Benz eScooter uses high-quality components and materials to guarantee up to 5,000 kilometers (3,000 miles) of use.
Adding to its projected durability is the eScooter’s convenient lightweight and intuitive folding and folding mechanism, the conveniences needed for the target market of last mile riders and their short trips from the car or public transportation to the end point.

Powered by a 500W motor hub on the front wheel, the ride is smooth thanks to suspension on both wheels (larger than most), capable of reaching a top speed of 20 km / h (12 mph)
The 7.8 Ah (280 Wh) battery power supports a range of 25 km (15.5 miles). Recharging from a standard household outlet, the eScooter can reach a full power quota in just under 4 hours, while a 70% charge can be achieved in just two hours.
The eScooter comes equipped with a rear drum brake, as well as an easily accessible foot brake on the skid plate. The lighting, both front and rear, is suitable for use in all types of traffic, including prominent side reflectors to improve visibility after dark.
eScooter features an intuitive folding mechanism that is activated with the touch of a button. The total weight of 13.5 kg (29.7 pounds) is manageable for most drivers to store the scooter folded.
True to Mercedes aesthetics, the sleek black design does not disappoint, including the iconic Mercedes-Benz logo, co-branded with Micro Mobility, on the steering column. This one stands out in the sea of similar transport models.
Convenient design and the latest technology rule the user experience. The steering column is retractable and adjusts smoothly to the rider’s height. The ergonomically solid handlebar includes a fast throttle on the right and a brake on the left, as well as a fully integrated chime for added safety. The center-mounted display screen shows key factors while on the move, including posted speed, battery level, and driving mode, all at a glance.
In the future, Mercedes-Benz plans to offer a charging station for the trunk in its vehicles, which will allow charging during the trip. But for now, the eScooter connects to the comprehensive and easy-to-use Micro mobile app for convenient route information, and also links via Bluetooth® to various smartphone models that can be connected to a stand at the handlebar, as long as local regulations allow it to be used.
The Mercedes-Benz eScooter is currently approved for use on public roads in Germany. The scooter meets all the necessary requirements, such as license plate holder, identification plate and ABE [German general operating license]; the only item that homeowners must purchase prior to purchase is legal liability insurance (or the equivalent, depending on the jurisdiction).
Pending production and distribution
Currently, there are no immediate details on the availability of the Mercedes-Benz eScooter or the estimated sale price. Given the loyalty of Mercedes-Benz fans and the highly competitive LEV space around the world, the launch information may come soon enough.
